Reason #316:
She always fought for me to sit at the Adult Table at family functions.
I am the oldest grandchild - the youngest is six years old - and so being stuck at the kids’ table felt like a punishment even though it wasn’t. I remember sitting with the eight year olds when I was in high school, thinking “If only those adults knew how much I could be adding to their conversations right now!”.
The only time I knew I was guaranteed a spot with the adults was when my mom was around, FIGHTING FOR MY RIGHTS.
So thank you mom, you were (and are) a hero.
