Reason #319:
First of all, I would just like to say that I love the above picture of my family. We told the church photographer that we wanted our background to be an interpretive painting of the apocalypse so that it would look like we were all standing in front of a rain of ash. And we do, so…success!
Now, onto the reason:
One year in early spring, our family took a day trip up to Tahoe to go hiking. We assumed it would be warm enough by that point, but it was still freezing and there was snow on the ground.
We had wildly misjudged.
I don’t remember much about that trip because I think it was a short one, but I do specifically recall that my mom, wearing only a t-shirt and jean shorts, laid down in the snow and made a snow angel.

Hi there.
My name is Chris Kelly, and I am a writer, comedian and actor that lives in New York City. But more importantly, I am the son of a pretty great mom.
She was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago, and in June of 2009, I decided to start compiling a list of 365 Reasons Why I Love My Mother.
I lived with my mother her last few months, and during the hard, sad times, I found this website helpful in focusing on the good and the happy.
My mom passed away on September 27th, 2009. She was a lovely person to have known and a lovely mother to have had.
Here are just 365 reasons why.
