I considered her sort of my anchor. She could be a very still and calming presence, and even if she was thousands of miles away, just the idea of her calmed me down or comforted me if I was worried or anxious.
Sometimes I get all panicky now because I feel like moms are the one person designated to be there for you and love you for the long haul regardless of what happens, and it takes me a second to realize how silly I’m being; I have a lot of people in my life who care for me, and who will do so unconditionally forever.
But I dunno, it’s different with moms. It just is.
