Reason #349:
In our first home in Sacramento, I had bunk beds in my room. Not because I shared a room with anyone, just because I had requested bunk beds. Before that, I slept in a waterbed.
Are you starting to get an accurate picture of me as a child? If you’ve only been able to hone in on weird, close enough.
I remember loving those bunks; I would alternate beds night to night as I saw fit. They were completely unnecessary, but my parents got them for me anyway. I guess they decided to spend a little extra on getting me what I wanted for my room since I spent a lot of time in there doing things like challenging myself to read 200-page books in a single sitting, just for “fun”.
I love the memories I have of my mom tucking me into those bunk beds when I was little. She would sing me songs really softly when I couldn’t sleep and it was incredibly comforting. I would never remember her stopping because she would stay there singing until I was out.
That was nice.
So were those bunks.
